HVAC Technicians are skilled tradespeople knowledgeable about more than just HVAC technology, and use their knowledge of electricity, plumbing and welding on virtually a daily basis to perform their job duties. Using these highly technical skills, HVAC Technicians manage air temperature and quality through installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the systems that control the climate in our homes, buildings, and vehicles.
At NCE you can train to be an HVAC Technician in as few as 10.5 months! The Commercial Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning program (HVAC) program at NCE teaches the knowledge and skills to install, service, and repair both residential and commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems and maintain EPA regulations when troubleshooting and repairing residential and commercial equipment. NCE uses hands-on, practical training techniques to teach students how to work with temperature control systems, air quality systems, humidity and refrigeration systems. Because the field of HVAC requires skilled technicians capable and knowledgeable of many trades, NCE’s program teaches more than just an introduction to HVAC technology – at NCE, students also receive hands-on, practical training in electrical theory and controls, basic plumbing, and welding and soldering using oxy acetylene torches.
Upon completion of the program, NCE graduates are prepared to test for the industry-recognized ESCO EPA certification, as well as the 410A, OSHA, and the HVAC Excellence certifications.
